Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogačar claimed an impressive victory in Stage 4 of the Tour de France, a challenging mountain stage stretching 174.2 kilometres from Amiens Métropole to Rouen.
Pogačar, known for his explosive climbing and tactical awareness, powered ahead in the final kilometres to secure the win. He was followed closely by Mathieu Van Der Poel of the Netherlands, who finished second, while Jonas Vingegaard of Denmark, a strong rival of Pogačar in recent editions, crossed the line in third.
The stage not only reshaped the day’s podium but also impacted the general classification, with the same three riders now occupying the top positions overall. Van Der Poel leads the standings, with Pogačar in second place and Vingegaard third, setting the stage for a fierce battle as the race progresses.
The fifth stage of this year’s edition will take place tomorrow, featuring a 33-kilometre individual time trial in Caen. With only seconds separating the top contenders, the time trial could prove decisive in reshuffling the general classification once again.
