Young Gozitan rider Matthias Sultana has completed a successful three-day testing programme in Spain as he continues his development with Team Pileri Terni ahead of the upcoming Mir Moto5 Trophy races.
The 11-year-old first made his debut in the Mir Moto5 Trophy in December 2025 at the Cartagena circuit, where he showed promising pace by improving his lap times in every session and producing an encouraging performance in his first race.
During the latest test, Sultana gained valuable experience at three different Spanish circuits: Villena, the 3.55km Albacete circuit and the technical Yepes track. The sessions allowed him to further develop his riding skills and fine-tune his riding position ahead of the next rounds of the championship.
Team manager Francesco Pileri praised the young rider’s attitude and progress.
“Matthias’s enthusiasm is contagious. He is young, but he already shows remarkable maturity on the track. He represents the values of our team, with a strong focus on preparation, discipline and healthy sporting development,” Pileri said.
Team Pileri Terni also confirmed the arrival of 12-year-old Cesare Golfetto, who will compete in the Mir Promo3 Trophy using the same technical package as Sultana.
The continued development of Sultana is another positive step in the young Maltese rider’s promising career as he prepares for the next stage of the Mir Moto5 Trophy season.
