Fabio Quartararo secures pole position for Dutch GP sprint race and main event

Fabio Quartararo will start from pole position in both the Sprint Race and the Dutch Grand Prix, the tenth round of the 2025 MotoGP World Championship at Assen. The Yamaha rider clocked an impressive 1’30.651 in qualifying, narrowly edging out Ducati’s Francesco Bagnaia by just 0.028 seconds. Completing the front row is Alex Marquez on the Ducati Gresini (+0.160), while championship leader Marc Marquez settled for fourth (+0.220).

The second row features Bezzecchi on the Aprilia and Morbidelli on the Ducati VR46. Quartararo confirmed his strong form from Friday, with Bagnaia the only rider matching his pace but missing out on the first pole of the season by mere milliseconds. This marks Quartararo’s fourth pole of the season, with the Frenchman aiming to convert this advantage into a strong finish during Saturday and Sunday’s races. So far, he has only one podium finish (second place at Jerez) in six races.

The Marquez brothers remain strong contenders, though Marc’s qualifying pace was slightly hampered by two crashes on Friday. Bezzecchi’s Aprilia had an excellent qualifying session, finishing ahead of a trio of Ducatis including VR46 riders and the Gresini of Aldeguer. Other notable qualifiers in the top twelve include Acosta (KTM), Vinales (Tech 3 KTM), Fernandez (Aprilia Trackhouse), and Zarco (Honda LCR).

The fourth row consists of Mir’s Honda, Miller’s Yamaha Pramac, and Savadori’s Aprilia. The fifth row features Binder (KTM), Bastianini (Tech 3 KTM), and Oliveira (Yamaha Pramac). Sixth row riders include Rins (Yamaha), Ogura (Aprilia Trackhouse), and test rider Espargaro (HRC). The group is closed out by Chantra on the Honda Idemitsu.
