Meridianbet, part of the publicly listed Golden Matrix Group (GMGI) has once again demonstrated its commitment to corporate social responsibility by supporting Żibel in their ongoing mission to protect Malta’s marine environment.
As part of the company’s monthly CSR programme, Meridianbet made a donation to Żibel which funded a recent ghost net recovery operation. Ghost nets, abandoned or lost fishing gear, pose a serious threat to marine ecosystems, entangling fish, turtles, and other sea life while also damaging fragile habitats.
The results of the initiative speak for themselves, with divers successfully removing harmful debris from Maltese waters. By recovering ghost nets, Żibel reduces long-term environmental damage and helps restore balance to the sea.
Meridianbet expressed pride in contributing to this cause, stating that the company is committed to initiatives that create a positive impact beyond the sports and entertainment industry. This collaboration with Żibel reflects Meridianbet’s wider efforts to promote sustainability and give back to the community.
