Maltese table football players compete in the Reggio Emilia Grand Prix

Last weekend, the Reggio Emilia Grand Prix for table football took place, featuring several Maltese players.

Josef Camilleri, Spencer Conti, and Jean Tabone emerged as winners in their respective groups, while George Ebejer advanced to the next stage after finishing second in his group.

In the elimination phase, Ebejer and Tabone faced off in a thrilling match. Tabone claimed victory after extra time, securing his spot in the quarterfinals. Camilleri also reached the quarterfinals, but Conti was eliminated in this phase.

In the quarterfinals, Josef Camilleri was defeated by Sebastien Scheen, and Jean Tabone lost to Ferdinando Gasparini, bringing their individual runs to an end.

In the team category, the Bormla Subbuteo Club advanced from their group in second place but were eliminated in the quarterfinals by Salernitana.

The participation of the Maltese athletes in the event was made possible through the support of SportMalta and the Maltese Olympic Committee, ensuring continued opportunities for Maltese players to compete internationally.
