The national table football championships concluded over the weekend, with top players claiming prestigious titles across various categories. The tournament also featured the highly anticipated National Knockout competition, where winners secured the right to represent Malta at the upcoming European Championships in September.
In the Under-16 category, Jayden Bonnici triumphed in a decisive match against Robert Farrugia Randon to clinch the title. Meanwhile, in the Under-20 division, it was Farrugia Randon who emerged victorious, finishing at the top of the rankings ahead of Jayden Bonnici and Thomas Ebejer.
Jason Pisani added a fifth title to his collection in the Veterans category, securing victory over Joseph Mifsud in the final. The National Knockout event saw Samuel Bartolo successfully defend his title, defeating Mark Gauci in a gripping final. Semi-finalists George Ebejer and Massimo Cremona also showcased strong performances throughout the competition.
Alongside their national titles, the winners have also earned the opportunity to represent Malta in the European Championships set to be held on home soil in September. This achievement highlights the growing strength of Maltese table football on the international stage.
Before the European Championships, Maltese players will compete in a major event in Mons, Belgium, in two weeks’ time. Their participation is made possible through the support of SportMalta and the Maltese Olympic Committee, ensuring that the nation’s top table football talents continue to gain experience at the highest levels.
