Marsaskala Aquatic are the BOV Waterpolo Winter League 1st Division champions after a nail biting 11-10 victory over Exiles Welbee’s in a thrilling title decider.
It was a match that lived up to every expectation. Both sides traded goals throughout in an incredibly close encounter, but Marsaskala Aquatic managed to hold their nerve in the closing stages, resisting a late Exiles fightback to claim the title by the narrowest of margins.
The trophy was presented to the Marsaskala Aquatic captain by Ernest Agius, Chief Operations Officer at Bank of Valletta, alongside Karl Izzo, President of the Aquatic Sports Association of Malta, bringing the curtain down on a highly competitive season.
Bank of Valletta, through their partnership with the Aquatic Sports Association, continue to play an important role in supporting local waterpolo and promoting participation and excellence across the Maltese sporting community.
