Ryan Bugeja wins MSSF Trap Competition

Ryan Bugeja won the Malta Shooting Sport Federation Trap Competition 50+50+25 (2-2026), held at the Qormi Clay Shooting Club.

Gianluca Chetcuti and Brian Galea finished second and third respectively.

With a score of 121/125, Bugeja achieved the MSSF minimum qualifying score (MQS). Chetcuti and Galea also reached the MQS after both registering scores of 117/125.

At the start of the competition, all participants shot at 50 clay targets, with the top 12 athletes progressing to a further round of 50 targets. The remaining shooters were eliminated.

After 100 targets, the six shooters with the lowest scores were eliminated, while the top six competitors advanced to shoot at another 25 targets.
