Nazzareno Attard wins MSSF Trap competition

Nazzareno Attard claimed victory in the MSSF Trap Competition (50 Targets 3-2025), held at the Malta National Shooting Ranges on Sunday. Attard emerged triumphant after an intense shoot-off, narrowly edging out strong competition from some of Malta’s top trap shooters.

Gianluca Chetcuti finished in second place, while Rennie Deguara secured third overall after a consistent performance throughout the event.

The six finalists who advanced to the final round were Rennie Deguara, Nazzareno Attard, and Gordon Caruana, each scoring 42/50 in the qualification rounds. Gianluca Chetcuti and Abiel Cassar followed closely with 41/50, while Nicholas Carabott qualified with 40/50 after a +1 shoot-off. Shazen Grech narrowly missed out on a spot in the final, finishing with 40/50 +0 in the shoot-off.

Attard’s steady shooting and composure in the final shoot-off secured him the overall title, adding another impressive result to his season.

The next competition, the 6th Trap Selection Shoot 2025, will take place on Saturday and Sunday, 1–2 November, once again at the Malta National Shooting Ranges.
