Five new World Triathlon Level 1 Coaches strengthen Malta's coaching team

The Malta Triathlon Federation celebrated another important achievement after five coaches successfully completed the World Triathlon Level 1 Coaching Course, earning internationally recognised coaching qualifications.

The course, which was held over the past week, represented another significant step in the Federation’s ongoing efforts to develop qualified coaching personnel and further strengthen the foundations of triathlon in Malta.

The five coaches who successfully obtained their World Triathlon Level 1 Coaching certification are Caroline Zammit, Denise Cortis, Charles Muscat, Ryan Muscat and Ben Psaila.

During the programme, participants completed both the theoretical and practical elements of the course, acquiring valuable knowledge in athlete development, coaching methodology, safety procedures, session planning and effective coaching techniques. Their commitment and enthusiasm throughout the course highlighted their dedication to supporting athletes and contributing to the continued growth of the sport.

By obtaining the World Triathlon Level 1 certification, the five coaches joined the global network of World Triathlon-accredited coaches and are now qualified to work with athletes of all ages and abilities.

Coach and Technical Official education continues to form a key pillar of the Malta Triathlon Federation’s long-term strategy as it invests in strengthening its professional structures and the future development of the sport. With the latest graduates, Malta now has 15 World Triathlon Level 1 certified coaches and five World Triathlon Level 2 certified coaches.

The Malta Triathlon Federation also expressed its gratitude to the Maltese Olympic Committee, VisitMalta and World Triathlon for their continued support in making the coaching course possible, recognising their important contribution to the ongoing development of coaches, athletes and triathlon in Malta.
