Team Malta is currently competing in the International Transalpine Trophy, taking place in Bardonecchia, Italy, with players Danny Scicluna and Julia Bonnici.
Both athletes are participating in the individual category, with Danny Scicluna achieving success in group 3 with two consecutive 3-0 victories against Kevin Papini and Adriano Calabrese. However, he was ultimately eliminated in the round of 16 by a player from Hungary.
On the other hand, Julia Bonnici was unable to advance past the group stage, suffering losses against Arianna Pesce and Giulia Trozzo.
In the doubles event Team Malta ranked 23rd out of 33 teams. The young Maltese players, Danny Scicluna and Julia Bonnici, secured a victory of 2-1 against Liguria.
Scicluna performed exceptionally well, achieving the highest results and contributing to his team’s well-deserved win. The two players were supported by the experienced coach, Mario Genovese.
