Last Sunday’s Down The Line competition at the Bidnija Shooting Ranges produced a tight finish at the top, with Joseph Zammit emerging as overall winner on 272 points, narrowly ahead of Sean Garnisi on 270, while Brian Agius took third place with 268. The event drew a strong field and delivered consistent scoring across all classes, with accuracy and composure proving decisive as the later rounds unfolded.
In Class A, Zammit’s 272 points, built on 94 hits, set the standard for the day. Garnisi followed with 270 points and 92 hits, maintaining pressure throughout, while Agius completed the class podium on 268 points with 91 hits. The margins reflected a contest where a single target made the difference across multiple squads.
Class B saw a close contest of its own. Ryan Cini prevailed with 261 points and 91 hits, edging Joseph Azzopardi who also finished on 261 but with 90 hits after countback. Joseph Attard placed third on 259 points with 87 hits, rounding out a competitive section where consistency over the full programme separated the front-runners.
In Class C, Martin Xuereb produced one of the day’s standout returns with 265 points and 92 hits to top the division. Alex Ciantar and Gabriel Micallef both finished on 258, with Ciantar listed ahead on 89 hits to Micallef’s 90 based on the organisers’ classification, confirming how fine the margins were across the order.
The Malta Shooting Sport Federation confirmed that the next DTL fixture will be the Champions of Champions Cup on Sunday, 30 November 2025 at Bidnija Shooting Ranges, where the leading performers from this season will return to contest one of the calendar’s most anticipated trophies.
