The Għaqda Regatta Nazzjonali u Qdif Ieħor would like to officially inform the public that the Association is made up of members from all districts that take part in the National Regatta. Every year, these members elect an administrative team that includes a President, Secretary, and Treasurer, along with assistants for these roles. This team is chosen by vote during the general meeting and represents all the districts.
The decision during the 31 March 2025 Regatta, which affected the Category A race results and changed the outcome between two teams, was taken by the technical committee—not the administrative team or any individual. This technical committee is separate and independent from the administration. It includes representatives from all participating districts and was called in due to special circumstances. The committee reached its decision based on thorough discussion and review of the rules, including regulations 3.13 to 3.20, which govern the National Regatta races.
Following this decision in the last edition, we understand that many arguments and protests have been raised. For this reason, the Association will be holding open discussions to hear everyone’s views and, if necessary, make any required changes after proper consultation.
The Għaqda Regatta Nazzjonali u Qdif remain committed to organising Regatta races in a fair and respectful environment, continuing the tradition of this popular competition that attracts so much interest year after year.
