Malta Racing Club driver Jesmar Gafa participated in the Coupe Intecontinentale des Amateurs in Vincennes yesterday Saturday 27th January where he will represent our country in a race against other 13 amateur drivers from all over Europe.
In a race where Jesmar Gafa’s horse EXOTIC JET was an outsider, the Maltese representative succeeded an honourable fifth place. After a good start, Jesmar Gafa had his horse follow horses in front of him for the first 1000meters of the race before having to advance uncovered when horses in front of him tired up. With a nice sprint EXOTIC JET moved up to third place but could not keep up the pace with the horses up front in the final meters and fought well to preserve a good fifth place.

The Coupe Intercontinentale des Amateurs was ultimately won by Fergie Highland driven by Danish Martin Andreasen whilst second place went to Hanugan driven by Swedish representative Hanna Lähdekorpi. Last place on the podium went to another Scandinavian driver, this time Norwegian Robert Kruse on Gloire de Fleury.
