The eleventh edition of the Johnnie Walker cup was launched at a press conference at the Malta Equidrome this afternoon. Hosted by the Malta Racing Club, this competition for Gold category trotters will see the final raced during the afternoon racing meeting held on November 3rd.
The Johnnie Walker Cup continues to establish itself as an important competition in the Maltese trotting racing calendar, with its finals always bringing a show to all horse racing enthusiasts. With one of the longest running sponsorships, M. Demaio Wines & Spirits Ltd continues to support the sport of horse racing over the years and continues to help the Malta Equidrome and the Malta Racing Club to stage prestigious competitions for owners and enthusiasts alike.
The press conference was addressed by Mr. Alfred Braddick Marketing Manager for M. Demaio Wines & Spirits Ltd who wished everyone a positive race while wishing that the best horse of the day wins. Dr. Matthew Brincat, CEO of Malta Equidrome wished the best to all participants while
thanking Mr. Alfred Braddick for the support, wishing that this collaboration with the sponsor continues for years to come. On behalf of the Malta Racing Club, Mr. Tony Demanuele, vice chairman of the club reiterated that as always, the enthusiast expects a competitive and clean race
that respects the horses and the opponents on the track. In this way the sport continues to emerge victorious. Mr. Max Zammit, CEO of questriMalta also wished the best wishes to all participants
while he reiterated that this is another occasion where private entities see value in sponsoring this equine sport.
Finally, the draws for the starting lineup of the final were held with Mr. Tony Demanuele drawing the horse names from their urn whilst Mr. Braddick drew the numbers with which the horses will start behind the autostart.
