Zurrieq Wolves Hotsticks Hockey Club began their EuroHockey Club Challenge II campaign with a 5-5 draw against Soroksári HC in Toruń, Poland, in their opening Pool B fixture.
The Maltese side were level 1-1 after the first quarter but trailed 3-1 at half time. Soroksári extended their advantage in the third quarter, with Hotsticks entering the final period 5-2 behind.
Zurrieq Wolves Hotsticks responded strongly in the final quarter to secure a draw from a three goal deficit, ensuring they took a point from their opening match of the competition.

The goals for the Maltese side were scored by Gary Bonnici, who netted twice, Christ Agius, also with two goals, and Alessandro Amore, who added one.
The result keeps Hotsticks competitive in Pool B as they continue their EuroHockey Club Challenge II schedule.
The team return to action against HC Šiauliai of Lithuania at 13:15 local time in their second group match.
