Phoenix Handball Club recently completed a successful two-day international training camp in Belluno, Italy, giving a group of promising Maltese players the opportunity to develop their skills alongside members of Belluno Handball Club.
The camp provided an excellent platform for the young athletes to experience a different training environment and benefit from international coaching methods. Players took part in specialised morning sessions led by coaches from both clubs, focusing on individual technique, teamwork, tactical awareness and overall game development.
The afternoons were dedicated to competitive action, with the Phoenix players facing local teams in a series of friendly matches. The young Maltese athletes successfully applied the lessons learned during training and showed impressive determination, commitment and team spirit throughout the competition.
Phoenix Handball Academy capped off the experience by winning the final matches, underlining the progress made during the camp and the quality of talent emerging from the club’s youth setup.
The international experience proved highly beneficial for the players, allowing them to train alongside Italian counterparts, adapt to new challenges and gain valuable exposure that will contribute to their continued growth as handball players.
