During the previous week, the Maltese male team for Beach Handball took part in their premier appearance at the European Handball Federation Beach Handball Championships in Varna, Bulgaria from 11th to 14th July 2024.
The team was assigned to Group B, which included the host country Bulgaria, as well as France, Czechia, and Norway. After completing the initial round, Malta competed in the Consolidation Round against Italy, Czechia, and Turkiye for their final three matches. In their debut competition, Malta secured the 10th position overall.
Leading the team’s scoring chart, Liam Harrison and Mauro Camilleri Darmanin both scored 25 goals for Malta.
