Malta Handball Association hosts Mini-handball festival for young players

The Malta Handball Association (MHA) hosted a mini-handball festival for children under 10 at the Tal-Qroqq Sports Hall over the weekend, as part of a series of competitions designed to promote the sport among young players.

Children from clubs and schools across Malta and Gozo participated, enjoying a day of handball matches and skill-building activities. These festivals form an important part of the MHA’s long-term strategy to develop the sport at grassroots level.

With support from the Central Government and the European Handball Federation, handball has seen steady growth in Malta, particularly in the under-8, under-10, and under-13 categories. More than 20 mini-handball festivals are scheduled to take place this year, reflecting the sport’s increasing popularity among young athletes.
