Thus he ranked first with a time of 5 hours, 5 minutes and 54 seconds. Bernard Galea of The Cyclist/Agones (5:06:10) and Heorhii Antonenko from Ukraine of OBOR-BIKE AID Cycling Team finished second and third rispectively in the final standings (5:06:22).
The last stage that took place was a race on the 3.2km circuit on the Għajn Qasab Road, on the Ramla l-Hamra route in Nadur, the Elite did 12 laps, while the Women and the Masters made 6 laps.
The Elite category was won again by another Swiss cyclist, Morgan Guerin of OBOR-BIKE AID Cycling Team who dominated the race where he finished victorious in a time of 1:19.00, an advantage of 18 seconds over Bernard Galea of The Cyclist/Agones, while Simone Cerio of ASD Team Simo Bike finished third with the same time of 1:20:42.
The Women’s category was won by Maltese/Australian Jessica Pratt of Team Greens with a total time of 4:19:43, followed by Mathilde Pauls of FTP RACING (UK) (4:23:09) and Marie Claire Aquilina of Team Greens (4:32:06).
Jessica Pratt did a poker, with four victories in all the stages where she dominated even in Nadur when she finished first in a time of 54:29. Mathilde Pauls (57:27) and Marie Claire Aquilina (58:29) finished behind her respectively.
In the Master’s category, Etienne Bonello of Team Greens emerged victorious with a total time of 4:00:33. Only three seconds behind him finished his teammate Joaquin Rojas (4:00:36) and David Michinson of Cinnamon Cafe Saddle Drunk Race Team finished third (4:01:05).
The last leg was won in a final sprint by David Michinson of Cinnamon Cafe Saddle Drunk Race Team (51:57). Etienne Bonello of Team Greens finished second with the same time of 51:57 and Joaquin Rojas also of Team Greens finished third two seconds behind them.
As the first Maltese Overall, Bernard Galea (The Cyclist/Agones), a Maltese who lives in England, finished first in the Elite Category with a total time of 5:06:10. Jacob Schembri of Mosta CC ranked second (5:15:47) and John Camilleri of B’kara St Joseph third (5:16:00).
In the Women’s Category as the Local Overall, three Team Greens cyclists finished respectively on the podium, Jessica Pratt with a total time of 4:19:43. Marie Claire Aquilina (4:32:06) and Diane Muscat (4:39:53). In the Master’s Category, Etienne Bonello of Team Greens finished as the first Maltese overall (4:00:33), his teammate Antoine Sultana second (4:01:39) and Mark Zammit of Mosta CC (4:05:38).
At the end of this last stage, several awards were given by Kevin Azzopardi, Secretary of the Maltese Olympic Committee and by the senior officials of the Maltese Cycling Federation, John Zammit, Joe Bajada and Daniel Borg Olivier, President, Secretary General and Treasurer respectively. The Tour Merit Award was given to Charles Camenzuli, while the Cliff Micallef Merit Award was given to Mario Bonnici in appreciation for their journalistic support over the years to this Malta International Cycling Tour.
This Tour was held under the auspices of the Maltese Cycling Federation, with the support of SportMalta and the Maltese Olympic Committee.
