Over 210 athletes to compete in first Tallinja Malta Youth International Athletics Festival

More than 210 young athletes from Europe and beyond will compete in the first Tallinja Malta Youth International Athletics Festival, highlighting the event’s strong international appeal.

Organised by Athletics Malta, the festival will take place on Saturday, 4 July, at the Matthew Micallef St. John Stadium. It is open to athletes born between 2009 and 2015 and aims to give young competitors the chance to compete in an international event while allowing Maltese athletes to test themselves against overseas rivals without leaving the country.

The first edition has attracted a strong entry list, including a large group of athletes from Lombardy, Italy, as well as competitors from several other European and African countries.

The festival will also include a number of Special Olympics athletes, reflecting Athletics Malta’s commitment to making the sport inclusive and giving everyone the opportunity to compete and develop.

The strong response to the event supports Athletics Malta’s aim of establishing Malta as a destination for international youth athletics competitions.

The festival is supported by Malta Public Transport as part of its partnership with Athletics Malta.
