Impressive results in Belgium

The number 3 seed in the world in the ranking of teams Fistf Bormla subbuteo club reached the semi finals of the prestigious Major of Frameries in Belgium considered as the biggest tournament and expected in this tournament called “wimbledon”of table football 42 teams took part . The Bormla  team is now a force in the football world and did not fall short of expectations, so in Group 3 it won all the games and with 9 points from 3 wins, 2   identical 3-0 victories over JSC Rochefort of Belgium and Tiburones B of Spain, as well as a 2-1 win against Issy les Moulineaux of France.

In the last 16 Bormla won against Asd SC Salernitana of Italy 2-1 with a goal by Pisani in the final seconds amid the joy of the Bormlizi who continued to believe until the end a good win was also by Golger against Preziuso 4-3. In the quarter finals Bormla won against Bolognia Tigers of Italy 2-1 in this match Bormla dominated from start to finish where the victory of the captain of team Aquilina against Mattiangeli was 3-0 and the victory of Busch the Austrian of Bormla 2-1 over Patruno were essential for Bormla to advance to the semi final and another podium and 2 consecutive one in this Major and 3 one internationaly as this  year  they are celebrating the 15 years since the establishment of the club. In the semi finals Bormla played a very tactical game where they came out 2-0 and after Reggio Emilia fratt Bari of Italy tied it 1-2 until the last seconds Bormla were able to turn this game but this remained the final result where Busch won for Bormlizi 2- 1 against Lichieri a draw considered very good 4-4 of the Belgian Bormliz Golger against Zambello.

The team was composed of Captain Charles Aquilina, John Zammit, George Ebejer, JasonaPisani, Bessim Golger and David Busch and Katerina W Busch  with Josef Camilleri being the team manager. On Saturday in the individual Charles Aquilina reached the quarter finals in the Veteran category and Josef Camilleri reached semi final consolation.

Bormla subbuteo club will now take part in the Grand Prix in Vienna Austria as well as in Mallorca in Spain and also at the end of April there will be the MTFSA Malta Grand Prix.
