GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks started their league commitments in the best possible way after beating rivals Qormi Daikin 3-1 in Kordin. This was the second meeting between both teams as a few weeks ago Żurrieq had won the Challenge Cup against the same opponents.. The Hotsticks established a double advantage by the end of the first quarter and even though the Qriema reduced the score, the Hotsticks stayed concentrated while adding another goal. Silas Plaehn scored twice while Ryan Dalli added another in the fourth quarter for GREE Żurrieq Wolves Hotsticks. Keith Calleja scored the only goal for Qormi Daikin. Umpires: Karl Chircop and David Agius. The two teams also met in the under-18 category and this time it was Qormi Daikin who won 9-5 against the Wolves. Lucas Brincat and Neil Spiteri Montebello scored a hat-trick each with Liam Carabott, Giorgio Muscat and Nicole Zammit adding the score for their team. Gary Bonnici scored a double for GREE Żurrieq Wolves with Jayden Cutajar, Rick Micallef and Liam Bonello adding more goals for their team. Umpires were Paul Brincat and Karl Chircop.
