The Malta Sports Journalists Association is honoured to announce that Olympic legend Pyrros Dimas will attend the 66th edition of L-Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali as a special guest.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest weightlifters in Olympic history, Dimas rose to international prominence representing Greece. He secured three Olympic gold medals at the 1992 Summer Olympics, the 1996 Summer Olympics and the 2000 Summer Olympics, in addition to a bronze medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics. His exceptional consistency at the highest level also includes multiple World and European Championship titles, establishing him as a defining figure in modern weightlifting.

Beyond his achievements on the platform, Dimas has continued to contribute to the sport through leadership and administration, serving in prominent roles within international weightlifting structures and dedicating his experience to the development of future generations.
The 66th edition of L-Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali will take place on Saturday 28th February at the InterContinental Malta and will be broadcast live on TVMSport+, as well as across the Association’s official social media platforms.
The evening will be presented by Anthea Zammit and Quinton Scerri, who will lead the ceremony from the main stage. Meanwhile, Maria Laura Vella Clark and Charles Camenzuli will be stationed on the red carpet, welcoming athletes and distinguished guests as they arrive and capturing their reactions ahead of the ceremony.
The Malta Sports Journalists Association looks forward to welcoming Pyrros Dimas to Malta for what promises to be another memorable edition of L-Għażliet Sportivi Nazzjonali.
