Glenn Axiaq is the new Third Division Champion after a brilliant night of snooker at the Malta Snooker Academy.
In a final that had the crowd on the edge of their seats, Glenn came out on top with a convincing 4 frames to 2 victory over Anthony Zammit. It was a performance full of quality and nerve from the champion, who held it together when it mattered most.
Anthony Zammit, however, can hold his head up high. He ran Glenn close on the night and had an outstanding campaign throughout the entire competition. The runner up spot is no disgrace after the level he showed across the tournament.
The result means both players have earned promotion to the Second Division, a well deserved reward for two competitors who clearly have plenty more to give at a higher level. Congratulations to them both on that achievement.

Elsewhere on Wednesday evening, the Masters quarter finals got under way, and it was Peter Pace who came through with a 4 frames to 2 win over Alex Borg. Borg will be disappointed to go out but lit up the evening with a break of 65, the standout shot making of the night.
