Local futsal champions Luxol St Andrew’s kicked off their UEFA Futsal Champions League main round group 7 engagements on a high when they turned defeat into victory to beat Georgians Tbilisi 2-1.

The team from Georgia shocked the Maltese team as they surged ahead after one minute through Irakli Todua who converted after a quick counterattack.

Luxol equalized in the 13th minute through Celino Alves whose fierce shot beat the opposing goalkeeper.
The St Andrew’s side scored what proved to be the winning goal as Maicon received well from the right and with a first timer beat Beka Tkemaladze for the second time.

Today Luxol play the second game of this competition when they face the Finnish Akaa at the Sportova Hala Arena in Lucenec kick-off at 4pm.
