The Enemed Women’s Futsal League is expected to be decided next week after Lija Athletics A won the second final out of three against Mtarfa Futsal 5-2. Thus Lija had sweet revenge from last week’s defeat against the same opponents to eventually force the third final.
Lija Athletics A came out aggressively and by the end of the first half they had already established a three goal lead through a double by Irena Drugovic and another goal by Michela Felice.
In the second half, Ylenia Azzopardi made it 4-0 before Janice Pace reduced the scoring margin for Mtarfa although Izabella Camilleri scored another goal for Lija.
A few seconds before the end, Demi Magri scored the second goal for Mtarfa.
The two sides will meet next Thursday for the third final which will be played at the De La Salle Pavilion at 8.15pm.
