Mosta and Luqa St Andrew’s recorded important victories in their respective sections of the Fuel 10 K Under 16 Futsal League.
In section A, Mosta turned defeat into victory to beat Sliema 4-2.
The Mosta side were losing 2-0 although they were able to equalize the score at the end of the first half in order to turn the score in their favour in the second half.
Paul James Friggieri scored two goals for Sliema so a double by Dayle Cachia and other goals by Luca Chetcuti and Zion Micallef Bickle gave Mosta the three points.
Referees were Stefania Bonnici and Jonathan Balzan.
Even Luqa St Andrew’s had to sweat hard to beat Pembroke Athleta 5-2 in a game from section B.
A double by Luke Guillaumier gave Pembroke the lead although Luqa had other ideas as they turned the score in their favour after doubles by Liam Testa and Zven Bonello with Denzel Schembri sealing the win for his team.
Referees were Stefania Bonnici and Jonathan Balzan.
