Tough test for Malta futsal team against Belarus

Malta’s national futsal team will play its final match in the main round of the European Championship tonight, facing a strong Belarus side at the University Pavilion in Tal-Qroqq.

This is the second time the two teams meet in just two months. In February, Belarus beat Malta 5-0, with Sergei Krikun scoring twice, while Vladislav Selyuk, Dmitri Shimanovski, and Artem Yakubov also got on the scoresheet.

Belarus go into this match full of confidence after a 2-1 win over Italy, a result that has almost guaranteed their place in the next stage of the tournament.

Meanwhile, Malta are still looking for their first point, having lost all five of their group matches so far—twice against Italy (11-1 and 5-1), twice against Finland (5-0 and 7-0), and once to Belarus (5-0).

In the current standings, Belarus are top with 13 points, followed by Italy with 10, Finland with 6, and Malta with none.

The match kicks off at 7pm and will be shown live on TVM Sport+.
