The Laferla Men’s Trophy final will take place on Friday 29 May, with Malta Futsal U19 set to face Luxol St Andrews FC Futsal in a match that brings together one of the country’s emerging teams and one of its most established clubs.
Malta Futsal U19 reached the final after a 4-0 victory over Malta FA Futsal Selection U17 in the semi finals. The young side has been among the notable performers in Maltese futsal this season following its success in the Challenge League.
The final presents another opportunity for the U19 squad to test itself against top level opposition after a campaign that has seen the team progress consistently throughout the season.
Luxol St Andrews FC Futsal booked their place in the final with a 5-1 win over University of Malta Students Futsal Team. The club now has the opportunity to add another title to its season after already securing silverware earlier in the campaign.
Victory on Friday would complete a domestic treble for Luxol and further strengthen the club’s record in Maltese futsal competitions.
The final is expected to attract strong interest as the experienced Luxol side takes on a younger Malta Futsal U19 team that has already shown its ability to compete against established opposition.
