After five years of dedicated service, veteran defender Clayton Failla has announced his departure from Mosta F.C. In an emotional message shared on Facebook, Failla expressed his gratitude to the entire club community coaches, players, supporters, and staff for their unwavering support and respect throughout his time with the club.

During his spell at Mosta, Failla played a key role in some of the most historic moments in the club’s recent history. Notably, he was part of the squad that secured Mosta’s first-ever qualification for European competition. More recently, the team achieved two top-six finishes during both the first and second phases of the league campaign.
Failla, who previously played for top Maltese sides such as Hibernians, Sliema Wanderers, and Floriana, is widely recognized for his strength in defence and his expertise in set-pieces. His departure from Mosta marks the end of a significant chapter in both his career and the club’s journey.

In comments given to Maltasport, Failla revealed that he has no plans to retire just yet. “I’d like to play for one more season,” he said, “but I need to evaluate the options I’ll have.” With that, Failla leaves the door open for a potential new challenge in Maltese football.
