Stade Rennais have dismissed coach Julien Stephan following a disappointing start to the season, securing just three victories in their initial 10 league matches, the Ligue 1 club announced on Thursday.
“Stade Rennais F.C. has commenced a process involving its head coach Mr. Julien Stephan and his assistants Mr. Denis Zanko and Mr. Bouziane Benaraibi,” read a statement from Rennes. “Pending the upcoming decision, the professional team’s training sessions will be overseen by Sebastien Tambouret, with assistance from Denis Arnaud and Pierre-Alexandre Lelievre.”
Rennes experienced their fifth loss of the Ligue 1 campaign last Sunday with a 4-0 defeat at AJ Auxerre.
