French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have appointed Sebastien Pocognoli as their new head coach, just days after parting ways with Adi Hütter.
The 38-year-old Belgian arrives in the Principality following a remarkable spell at Union Saint-Gilloise, where he guided the club to their first Belgian league title in 90 years, finishing ahead of Club Brugge and earning widespread praise for his attacking, possession-based football.
“Sebastien Pocognoli arrives in Monaco on the back of a highly successful spell in the Belgian Pro League with Royale Union Saint-Gilloise, where he stood out by combining strong results with an ambitious and attractive style of play,” the club said in an official statement.

His first match in charge will be an away fixture at Angers next weekend, followed by a crucial European tie at home against Tottenham Hotspur four days later.
Hütter, who was dismissed on Thursday, left the club after managing only one win in five matches, ending a turbulent period that saw Monaco lose momentum in both domestic and continental competitions.
Pocognoli’s appointment signals Monaco’s intent to re-energise their campaign with a younger, progressive coach known for tactical creativity and player development
