Verstappen reflects on podium finish after VSC frustration

Max Verstappen admitted luck was not on his side after a Virtual Safety Car (VSC) hampered his race, but the reigning world champion was still pleased to secure a podium finish.

In a message shared on social media following the race, Verstappen said he had “tried everything” but felt the VSC had worked against him at a crucial stage.

“I tried everything I could today. Bit of bad luck with the VSC, but that’s part of racing,” he wrote.

Despite the setback, the Red Bull driver took positives from the weekend, highlighting the support he received from fans around the circuit.

“Felt good to be on the podium with so much support in the grandstands and on the hills. Always means a lot!” he added.
