Max Verstappen from Red Bull has won pole position for the British Grand Prix after qualifying at Silverstone on Saturday. Oscar Piastri from McLaren, who leads the championship, will start next to him on the front row for Sunday’s race.
Piastri’s teammate, Lando Norris, will start in the second row alongside George Russell from Mercedes.
Piastri was on top until Verstappen did a perfect final lap, beating him by just a tenth of a second.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will start on the third row.
Verstappen said the windy conditions made it tricky but he’s happy with the result. He called Silverstone a proper track where you have to give it your all.
He added, “We are quite quick on the straight and I’m excited for the race tomorrow. It’s a big boost for the team.”
