Ferrari have expressed “full confidence” in team principal Fred Vasseur following speculation linking former Red Bull boss Christian Horner with the role.
The Italian team issued their backing on Tuesday as they sought to prevent questions over Vasseur’s future from overshadowing this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix, which is being held in Malaysia.
Speaking at a virtual news conference, Ferrari’s head of communications Maria Conti said the team remained firmly behind the Frenchman and his staff.
“We have confidence, full confidence, in Fred Vasseur and in his team, and we continue to do so,” she said.

Speculation intensified after Horner told The Times that Ferrari were the only team he would consider joining without an ownership stake.
His comments prompted further scrutiny of Vasseur’s position, with the Ferrari boss expressing frustration at questions about his future during last weekend’s Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku.
Conti said Ferrari wanted attention to return to racing ahead of the next round at Sepang.
“We would like to avoid that the next weekend in Malaysia will be focused only on this kind of gossip and speculation,” she said.
Vasseur took charge of Ferrari in 2023 and played a key role in bringing seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton to the team from Mercedes in 2025.
Ferrari are second in the constructors’ championship, 160 points behind leaders Mercedes and 72 ahead of defending champions McLaren.
The team are seeking their first Formula 1 title since winning the constructors’ championship in 2008.
