The return of F1 to Australia, after two cancellations due to the coronavirus pandemic, was attended by exactly 419,114 fans in four days, the organizers said.
This number exceeds the attendance of 401,000 fans in 1996 at the first edition of the race in Melbourne.
The F1 record for the Australian Grand Prix is still visited by 520,000 fans from 1997, in the last race in Adelaide.
Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc won yesterday in front of 128,294 Formula 1 fans, and there were 55,107 on Thursday, according to the organizers.
The next Formula 1 race is for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, which will take place on April 24 at the Imola track.
