Antonelli takes third straight pole with superb Miami qualifying lap

Andrea Kimi Antonelli continued his impressive rise by securing pole position for the Miami Grand Prix, marking his third consecutive pole of the 2026 season. The young Mercedes driver delivered a composed and clinical lap of 1:27.798 to take top spot on the grid.

He will be joined on the front row by Max Verstappen, with the Red Bull Racing driver finishing just behind Antonelli after another competitive showing. Charles Leclerc ensured Ferrari remained in the fight by qualifying third.

There was further frustration for reigning champion Lando Norris, who could only manage fourth place for McLaren after struggling to extract maximum performance in qualifying once again. His teammate Oscar Piastri will start from seventh.

Completing the top five is George Russell in the second Mercedes, underlining the team’s strong pace over one lap. Lewis Hamilton will line up sixth for Ferrari, with Alpine’s Franco Colapinto rounding off the leading group further down the grid.
