After concluding his illustrious career, Zlatan Ibrahimovic took to his Instagram profile to share an emotional message expressing his gratitude.
Ibrahimovic bid farewell to football in the final round of Serie A, in front of a packed San Siro stadium. Now, he has penned a heartfelt note, thanking the sport that has given him everything.
“It all started as a dream, a dream that turned the impossible into the possible. I was born in Malmö, raised in Amsterdam. In Turin, I gained wisdom, and in Barcelona, I became a lion. I grew up in Milan and gained new perspectives in Paris. I built endurance in Manchester and had fun in Los Angeles, and finally found peace in my new home, Milan.
Football created me, and my hope is to leave behind a legacy of new Zlatans. Those who possess a lion’s heart. Those who have fire in their eyes. Those who truly understand that nothing is impossible. Thank you for everything. Mino, we did it. The ride is over. It has been an incredible journey. I will miss you,” wrote Zlatan.
Throughout his career, Ibrahimović appeared in 819 games, scoring 493 goals and providing 201 assists. He showcased his talents at clubs such as Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United, and Los Angeles Galaxy.
