Sliema Wanderers have officially confirmed the departure of club captain Noel Turner after the experienced midfielder decided to terminate his contract and pursue a new chapter in his career.
In an emotional statement, Sliema described Turner as the “definition of a clubman” following six memorable years during his latest spell with the Blues.
Meanwhile, according to sources close to Malta Sport, Sliema Wanderers are close to reaching an agreement with former Hibernians coach Branko Nisevic as the club intensifies preparations for the new season.

Nisevic is certainly no stranger to Maltese football. During his time with Hibernians, he won the Maltese Premier League in the 2014/15 season, as well as the FA Trophy and the Super Cup.
He later added another league title to his CV with Ħamrun Spartans in the 2022/23 season, further underlining his proven track record in Maltese football.
Known for his calm personality, tactical discipline and ability to build organised sides, Nisevic would arrive with a serious domestic pedigree should the agreement be finalised.
His potential appointment would represent one of the most intriguing managerial moves ahead of the new Maltese football season.
