Marsaxlokk earned all three points on Saturday with a 2-1 victory over Żabbar St Patrick in a match played at the Victor Tedesco Stadium.
The Southsiders needed just two minutes to take the lead when Dodo beat Issufe Djalo with a low drive. Marsaxlokk doubled their advantage in the 39th minute as a corner taken by Joseph Minala went straight into the net.
Żabbar pulled one back a minute before half-time through Im Youngwon, who finished well after a swift counter-attack.
In the second half, Żabbar pushed hard in search of an equaliser, but Marsaxlokk held firm to protect their one-goal advantage and secure the win.
The victory moves Marsaxlokk onto ten points, level with Hibernians, Gżira United and Floriana, with the latter two facing each other later today at the Centenary Stadium.
