After Matchday 8 of the YoHealth Malta Premier League, the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner has published the list of players and officials who were cautioned during this round of the Premier League.
While the domestic league takes a short break due to the commitments of the Malta national team, three players are already set to miss Matchday 9 as they will be serving suspensions.
Birkirkara captain Leandro Lautaro Lacunza picked up his fourth yellow card in the match against Żabbar St. Patrick and will therefore miss the fixture against Floriana on 25 October.
Ħamrun Spartans coach Giacomo Modica will be without forward Semir Smajlagić, who was sent off with a direct red card in the game against Sliema Wanderers. Smajlagić will miss the upcoming match against Naxxar Lions on 26 October.
Sliema Wanderers will also have a suspended player for their next match against Marsaxlokk. Jose Fernando Gomes Junior received his fourth yellow card in the match against Ħamrun Spartans, meaning coach Paul Zammit will be unable to call on him for the next fixture.
