Valletta FC have announced that midfielder Jake Azzopardi has signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2029.
The 20 year old has come a long way since making his debut on 8 April 2023 against Santa Lucia at just 17 years of age. In the years since, Azzopardi has grown into a key figure in the club’s midfield, earning a reputation as one of the brightest young talents in Maltese football.
The club were full of praise for the young midfielder, describing him as “a true Gen-V role model” who “represents everything Valletta FC stands for.” Rising through the ranks at the club, they say he has become “a key figure in our midfield and a shining example of what Valletta FC represents.”

For Valletta FC, this signing carries meaning well beyond the paperwork. The club were keen to stress that “this renewal is more than just a contract, it is a statement” of their commitment to building a strong and sustainable future rooted in Maltese talent. They also pointed to the wider benefit of keeping players like Azzopardi at the club, noting that he is not only growing with their success, but also “strengthening the future of our National Teams.”
With the ink now dry, Valletta FC are looking ahead with confidence, saying the future is “bright and white” and expressing their excitement about the years to come with Jake in their colours.
