Birkirkara FC have announced the signing of Marcos Maydana, a versatile 29-year-old Argentinian midfielder who can also operate as a left wing-back.
Maydana has spent most of his career in Italy’s lower divisions, and his journey through clubs has been particularly active in recent seasons. In the 2024/25 campaign alone, he moved twice, starting at Mariglianese, switching to Termoli in July, and then joining Gela in October, all on free transfers.
His previous clubs also include S.Maria Cilento, Alto Casertano, Nereto, and RFC Seraing in Belgium, with short spells between contracts. Despite the frequent moves, Maydana has built a reputation as a hardworking, adaptable player across multiple midfield roles.
Upon signing, Maydana shared his enthusiasm for joining Birkirkara:
“The investments made by Maltese clubs translate into great competition on the pitch. I’m excited to join the squad and give my all for the team.”
