Elliot Anderson joins Manchester City in record €135M transfer

Elliot Anderson has completed a record-breaking €135 million move to Manchester City.

The transfer makes the 23-year-old the most expensive English player in history, surpassing the fee Real Madrid paid Borussia Dortmund for Jude Bellingham in 2023.

In a statement, Manchester City confirmed they had reached an agreement with Nottingham Forest for Anderson’s transfer. The midfielder is expected to officially join the Premier League champions once the World Cup concludes.

The deal is the third-highest transfer fee ever paid by a Premier League club, behind Liverpool’s signings of Sweden striker Alexander Isak for €145 million and Germany international Florian Wirtz for €136 million.

Anderson was granted permission by the England national team to undergo his medical last Sunday between World Cup fixtures. He has started every match for England at the tournament so far.
