UEFA will confirm the host association for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2029 finals on Wednesday, 3 December, with final bid presentations and the announcement ceremony to be held at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
On the day, the remaining candidate associations will make their closing presentations to the UEFA Executive Committee before a decision is taken and announced during a formal ceremony at UEFA Headquarters.
Following the announcement, a mixed zone will be set up outside the auditorium, giving media the opportunity to speak to officials and representatives from UEFA and the bidding federations. No press conference is planned.
Media representatives who wish to cover the event on site are required to apply for accreditation via an electronic form by Tuesday, 25 November. Accredited journalists will be allowed into the building from 15:00 CET through a designated media entrance, which will be clearly indicated on arrival in Nyon.
Access to the auditorium itself will be confirmed closer to the date; however, the full ceremony will be shown live in the media working area, as well as streamed on UEFA.com and UEFA.tv for those following remotely.
UEFA will also provide a video news release and official photographs from the event on the same afternoon via the UEFA Media Channel, ensuring broadcasters and online platforms have immediate access to material once the host is announced.
The final bids for UEFA Women’s EURO 2029 were submitted by a joint candidacy from Denmark and Sweden, as well as by Germany and Poland. Portugal had initially been part of the race, but the Portuguese Football Federation later confirmed its decision to withdraw its bid.
The decision on 3 December will determine which association will host the next edition of the premier women’s national team competition in Europe, following on from recent tournaments that have driven record attendances and audiences for the women’s game.
