The Maltese girls will be facing Portugal in the last game of their UEFA Euro 2025 qualifying group hoping to avoid a big defeat. It has been a rather underwhelming performance in the group, with only one point for Manuela Tesse’s side who are also missing Haley Bugeja through injury.
Malta will be relying on their other stalwarts such as Kailey Willis, Charlene Zammit and Brenda Borg to counter the Portugese onslaught. In the first round match, Portugal won 2-0 at the Centenary Stadium and have already won their group with 13 points from 5 games.
Malta will be hoping to do better than their rather disappointing defeat against Northern Ireland last Friday where the locals went down by a goal in each half.
