Italian midfielder Marco Verratti left Paris Saint-Germain after 11 years, citing disagreements with first coach Luis Enrique as the main reason.
Verratti signed for the Al Arabi team in a transfer worth 45 million euros.
He cited disagreements with coach Luis Enrique as the main reason for leaving Paris.
“I talked to Enrique, he told me that I am not part of his plans. He is a great coach, I respect his decision. He told me that I have been in PSG for many years and that he wants some changes. For me, things never happen by chance,” said the Italian midfielder.
After the conversation, he did not want to leave Paris, so he decided to go to the Middle East.
“I didn’t want to go to another team in Europe, because at some point I would definitely play against PSG. I decided to live in Paris after finishing my playing career. My family stayed there. I come to Paris whenever I have free time,” added Verratti for the French “L’Equipe”.
