Valletta St Paul’s completed a hat-trick of successes in the Malta Amateur Football Association when they won the Next Auto Car Sales MAFA KO after beating San Ġiljan Saints 1-0.
It was a game between two teams with offensive mentality although the game resulted in a very tactical one.
Valletta took the lead on 28 minutes when it was Elton Da Silva who mounted a dangerous counterattack while crossing well with the ball reaching Junior Medatou who with a header beat keeper Stian Nielsen.
Shortly before the end of the first half, Valletta ended up playing with 10 men after Andre Farrugia was sent off after a bad foul on Marcus Crowther.
In the second half, as expected San Ġiljan went on the offensive in an attempt to equalize the score but the opposing defense held firm until the end so they left the Marsaxlokk stadium with the satisfaction of the victory.
At the end of the match, Joseph Fava, Next Auto Car Sales Ltd director presented the cup to the Valletta St Paul’s captain Leandro Camilleri.
