Morgan Rogers has been named the UEFA Europa League Player of the Season following Aston Villa F.C.’s victory over SC Freiburg in the final.
The 23 year old England international played a key role in Villa’s 3-0 win in Istanbul, scoring the third goal of the match and providing an assist during Wednesday’s final.
The victory secured Aston Villa’s first major trophy in 30 years and completed a successful European campaign for the Premier League side.
Rogers also made significant contributions throughout the competition, scoring goals against FC Red Bull Salzburg and Bologna FC 1909 while registering five assists during Villa’s run to the title.
Meanwhile, Johan Manzambi of Freiburg received the Europa League Revelation of the Season award.
The 20 year old forward featured in all 15 matches for the German side during the campaign, scoring twice and contributing two assists.
One of his goals came during Freiburg’s semi final victory against S.C. Braga, helping the Bundesliga side reach the final.
